• Introduction to The Talking Monkey
—fka, TCB: Was she the talking dog trapped in the modifier?

(No, that was "Evelyn".)

It was --at least to that very superficial and primitive glimpse-- an enormous pleasure to see your signature sitting there! Had already missed it at least twice, then I asked if maybe this wasn't the trickster that generally manifests for the purpose of derailment at this point in any good movie? Realistically decided I am well-schooled enough to cope with Imposters, if that is this particular deal and, besides, I deserve some kind of Enormouse Pleasure at this point even if it turns out to be self-deception for a little while. (Besides, who is to say a really gifted Impostor isn't worth the time of day? Not me, that's for sure.)

Then it was --at least to that well-intended but suddenly (and necessarily) abortive effort at buying some postage for the purpose-- deLIGHTful to see what it looked as if you may have done in advance? (Not many people would bother to strew flower petals on the sidewalk leading up to the post office, just so's I wouldn't get lost.)

But then the Talking Monkey arrived, and pointed out a whole lot of OTHER things lurking in the background just waiting for me to turn my head, I freaked (as usual), and ran all the way home. ("Wee wee wee!" could be heard for miles, and Sma' is an understatement given what was going on in this head at the time. --Or, wait a minute! Could it really have been "Oui, oui, oui!" and I am simply too astonished at my heretofore unknown brazenness to realize what I am actually hearing?)

I do intend to try again (and again, or even again) until I succeed. Enormous pleasure resounds (and deLIGHT tickles the fancy), and you can take that to the bank. Just need some time over here, given all the rest is going on too, plus we've got to please more than one Simon Legree wannabe carrying a concealed weapon permit.

(You can consider yourself It while you wait, if you want to.)
