It came to me last night, and we laughed for a good long time about it. --Except I was the only one not laughing out of context. As far as I know today, I never will explain. (Seriously doubt that, tho, given my yawing mouth.)

By the way, I have to wonder why you don't just ask whether you may? You can never know in advance when things aren't likely to follow the usual script. (Besides, when have I ever behaved selfishly when it came to something you wanted?)
