Author's Preface

The Brick Stops Here is an epoch of the Complete Works series. It begins on 2 June 2006, with LOUDER , my first piece which followed an incomprehensible intervention that restored my physical life and heralded a series of inexplicable physical (and spiritual) transformations which, at this writing, are still ongoing. (This strange interlude in my life is detailed in Preface and Dedication of The Odyssey of the Peerless Idiot .) The Brick Stops Here ends on the eve of the next of the Complete Works epochs, 12 February 2007. The Brick epoch also covers ~day to day, piece by piece~ the most prolific period of writing in my life.

[Real-time prose narrative of these events ~some metaphorical, some literal, some mixed~ has been maintained at my blog, The Camel's Back (TCB) , along with original drafts of all new published poetry including those published after Brick, as an artistic window into my personal microcosm, closed. The best of those entries are being formatted for upload here at SPR where you can watch SPR's drop-down menus grow as they are added, piecemeal. This preface will be revised, as appropriate, when that undertaking finally progresses into nothing but the subsequent epoch of writings, Gorillas in the Midst: The Complete Works of Sugarpie Rabbit, from 13 February 2007.]


Please note that the collection The Odyssey of the Peerless Idiot, is not entirely synonymous with this epoch and will, when complete, not include all later titles you will find in The Brick Stops Here.
