The other two occurred in Camp Douglas, WI in 1931 and 1965, respectively. All photo's and some of the information are courtesy of Camp Douglas resident, Claire Ness. Our grateful appreciation to Mr. Ness for sharing with us some of our areas history!

Omaha Passenger Train Victim of Washout!
Train # 10 was headed for Elroy when it was flagged at the tunnel and ordered back to Camp Douglas due to a washout near Elroy.
Meanwhile, the bridge between Hustler and Camp Douglas was washed out by high water, as well. The train backed up, not knowing the bridge was out.
All the passenger cars plunged into the river. This resulted in the death of four people; they were the engineer, fireman, conductor and a brakeman.
