FACTS AND IMPRESSIONS

John’s story of Christmas in a nutshell, how verse 14, why verse 18.

John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God." Vs.2 "He was in the beginning with God."

Further, John 1:10a "He was in the world, and the world came into being through Him." Not a description of the how but a proclamation of the who.

And more, John 1:14a "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us." Again, not how it happened, but what did happen.

And then John tells us why, John 1:18b. "It is God the only Son, who is close to the Father’s heart, who has made Him known."

So what are we supposed to do?

John 13:34 "A new commandment I give unto you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another."

These are our marching orders if we seek to follow Jesus. The verses don’t give us the how but the what. We have to work out the how "in fear and trembling." We often stand with the penitent, "I believe, help my unbelief." Mark 9:24.

If you are seeking to live out these injunctions, to find more meaning in life, join us in the search. "Come and see," as in John 1:39 and let us grow together.
