FACTS AND IMPRESSIONS

It’s either by God or by accident, the world that is.

If it’s by God--- what kind?

In the gospel of John it says, "No one has ever seen God. It is God the only son, who is close to the Father’s heart, who has made him known." John 1:18

It’s this "God the only Son," who in talking to "all the tax collectors and sinners who were coming near to listen to him," who told 3 parables, the first about a lost sheep. Out of 100, one sheep was lost. Is 99% good enough? In school, most of the time. In business, usually, but to a shepherd or an accountant NO! Jesus goes on, "I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over 99 righteous persons who need no repentance." Luke 15:1-7

The Psalmist echoes this pursuing God, "Where can I go from your spirit? Or where can I flee from your presence? If I ascend to heaven, you are there, if I make my bed in Sheol you are there." Psalm 139:7-8

Accidents don’t care. God cares, Jesus cares. Churches care.

Churches stand ready to help in this pursuit, not the buildings on the corner but the people who gather inside from time to time and then disperse in the community. We’re sure not perfect but we try and we care. If you have no other place to gather where people care, try us.
