Our great challenge at First Baptist in Mauston is to increasingly become a disciple-making congregation. We know that we must make increasingly important at least these several vital qualities. They include:
- Spiritual vitality evidenced by a contagious sense of spiritual growth motivated and empowered by and following the principles of Jesus. Such a life together as a church is shaped by the individuals desire to grow in their personal relationship with Jesus so Gods specific call to each person can be understood by that person even if by nobody else.
- A vital, transforming worship.
- A focus on mission to become a mission station for service to the community in which we exist.
- The identification of our individual gifts and a sense of the call to use these gifts as the basis for ministry.
- A commitment to equipping growing disciples for the work of the ministry.
- A shared pulpit, pew component, to carry it out.
- A lean permission giving structure the key component of which is the freedom to try our ones own ideas for mission in a team environment as long as they do not violate the core beliefs of the church.
If this idea of discipleship and commitment to Jesus intrigues you and you do not have a church home, drop in and help us to grow. Perhaps you too have a vision for ministry that you would like to carry out.
