Shrouded Fire
(For Ruth at 85)
You lioness in winter!
Founded in faith
Favored by God to be graced
with intensification of joy
Lost in the love that will not let you go
Serene in your spirit, yet with a sparkle
of continuing girlish surprise.
You lioness in your deepening winter
Pacing now mostly in your mind
Capturing your prey in your prayers
Holding so lightly the gentle firmness
Perfect Love, Who will never let you go
David Trembley
What does this poem say to you who may be in this golden era? Can we, -----pace in the mind, -----capture in prayer? You know, we can all of us, do this, even if we can do nothing else. If we wish!
