God of the stars, may we offer up in your name the gifts of friendship and of love for all.
Fill us with great tenderness for the needy person at every turning.
Grant that we in all perplexities and everyday decisions may keep a mind open to your spirit.
By centering it on the One who made you fully known, Jesus.
We read in the book of Psalms:
When I look at the heavens, the work of your fingers,
The moon and stars that you have established;
What are human beings that you are mindful of them,
Mortals that you care for them?
Yet you have made them a little lower than God,
And crowned them with glory and honor. Ps.8:3-5
When we ponder the beauty and multiplicity of the stars, and pray to the God that made all, we stand in awe with the Psalmist, but also with resolution in our heart, we stand ready to serve under God the needs made clear in the opening prayer.
We are inadequate but determined to do our best in His name. We covet your prayers and invite you to join us.
