FACTS AND IMPRESSIONS

June 25th, 2001

The Psalmist says it (Psalm 118:24)

This is the day that the Lord

has made;

let us rejoice and be glad

in it

and it can also read, in him.

Both are certainly true.

Yet the question becomes How. Some days don’t seem to be for rejoicing, especially when that bad news comes.

Now the Poet helps us.

Good Morning, God!

This is your day.

I am your child,

show me the way.

The question then becomes, in what "way" does God "show" us.

OK. Let’s look to the Prophet (Micah 6:8)

He has told you, O mortal

what is good;

and what does the Lord

require of you

but to do justice, and to love

kindness,

and to walk humbly with

your God?

To what end? As the old teaching goes, that we may glorify God and enjoy and serve him forever. Is that kind of Grace and Challenge enough for you?
