FACTS AND IMPRESSIONS

May 21, 2001

Good Morning, God!

This is your day.

I am your child,

Show me the way.

The Psalmist said it this way, This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. (118:24) A footnote in the New RSV indicates some texts say the it should read him as in the Lord. Both readings seem helpful as we live in both circumstance and our own individual appreciation of faith.

And hasn’t God already shown us much of the way before we even get up by giving us our own peculiar DNA with our own combination of brains and brawn, interests and enthusiasms, talents and all the rest that make up each one of us.

So no matter where we are in the pathway of life and our own spiritual pilgrimage we can grab this day and use it, hopefully and humbly, for God and his other children.
