"The moon is full and the air is clean and crisp, gentle yet wild. The moon holds all the world in its embrace, sees all, knows all. I crave the moonlight, as I do the sunlight. I follow it from room to room, street to field. The light guides me always. I believe in the light.
I believe in life. It is a precious gift to us. To have lived this many years is an additional gift. Each day is a new chance to love and give and share---and to grow. Sometimes the trying parts of life get to us and it doesn’t seem like such a gift, and then it is necessary to rethink our existence and realize the things that really matter. There aren’t that many of them actually. It isn’t houses or cars or where we live that makes a difference. It is the love we carry inside and give to others, it is the people we share our life with. It is how we feel when we hear a bird singing its heart out, or a beautiful song, or the smell of leaves on an autumn day. These are the things that matter and the things that don’t matter…"

In the letter of 1st John we read, "He who loves is born of God and knows God, he who does not love does not know God, because God is love" 4:7
Our prayer at First Baptist is that all of us increasingly manifest this God’s love to the world, where each of us matter, to God, and to one another.
