A.J. Cronin wrote it, I dont know where, but see how it strikes you.
"Life is no straight and easy corridor along
which we travel free and unhampered,
but a maze of passages,
through which we must seek our way,
lost and confused, now and again
checked in a blind alley.
But always, if we have faith,
a door will open for us,
not perhaps one that we ourselves
would have ever thought of,
but one that will ultimately
prove good for us."
The key word of course is faith, and faith not in just anything, but in the God defined by Jesus (John 1:18.) This is why Christmas is so important, that is the coming of Jesus, to be born in human form. (Phillipians 2:7,) a son who was obedient even unto even death (Phillipians 2:8.) John 3:16 helps us here, "For God so loved the world, (which means every single individual person it,) that he gave his only Son so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life." And again in Romans 5:8, "But God proves his love for us (and again, that us means each individual person) in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. These scriptures denote the action that took place, not how it can bring fulfillment to our lives.
(I include the scripture references, not as proof texts, but so you may look them up yourselves and read the context to get a full understanding of this historic action. All texts are subject to interpretation and I claim no infallibility.)
