FACTS AND IMPRESSIONS

February 12, 2001

A Rabbinical Story

An elderly Rabbi, grown wise with many years, asked his younger students: "When does the night end and the day begin?" One answered, "When you can tell the difference between a sheep and a tiger." "No." Another ventured, "When you can see the difference between a tree and a man." "No." "Then tell us, Rabbi."

He replied, "The night ends and the day begins when you can see God in the face of your brother and sister."

From Rev. Joseph A. Howland, North Park Baptist Church, San Diego, CA via the "Christian Citizen."

As we all move along the pathway of our unique spiritual pilgrimage, what milestones do we reach to mark our progress? At First Baptist we want all that travel to be assured of a rest stop with full services to meet every need at every such milestone. Why? Because we see the face of God in all the brothers and sisters we meet along the way. Join us in manning (I guess I should say staffing,) these spiritual service centers.
