God has never promised Christians
They’ll have an easy life
But have diverse experiences
Some blessings and some strife.
Life for all God’s children
Has some "ups and downs"
In many things that happen
Bringing smiles and also frowns.
But for those who love the savior
As they know they should
God works for their own welfare
And always for their good.
The experiences in their life
Sometimes are quite confusing
But God is always on their side
Though sometimes their side seems losing.
So trust the Lord with all your heart
That He is sovereign God
That He’ll direct your path
With both staff and rod.
