Leaving Children Behind, What Research Says About Retention
"Over 100 years of research have shown retention to be an ineffective strategy for improving achievement, a discriminatory practice, and a powerful predictor of which students will drop out of school. Finally, retention is expensive. There are many alternatives available that cost much less and have proven to be fair and effective in improving student outcomes."
