Think Big. Start Small: A Wisconsin Public Awareness Campaign

A baby's ability to realize, as an adult, his/her maximum potential for intelligence, creativity and social competence is impacted powerfully by the experiences that he or she has, both pre-natally and in the early childhood years. As members of a school and local community, we will all benefit from efforts to support the growth of children into competent citizens. People need to realize why it is critical to support early care and education. They need to know specifically how they can help. Think Big. Start Small (10 MG program download--please save to your pc to preserve bandwidth) is a public outreach campaign designed by many state agencies, education programs, childcare organizations and other partners. Its purpose is to increase awareness of the importance of high quality early care and education and provide direction for those that want to help. A variety of materials including flyers, brochures, radio spots and billboards have been developed. The materials reinforce four basic messages:
